| How To Properly
Empower People |
|
In most organizations people are a great repository of wisdom and knowledge.
There are effective methods of including people in the decision making
processes. The wise QPI Management System will involve people in process
improvement teams, gathering information from customers and suppliers,
and indeed ultimately in the mission statement of the company. |
|
The empowerment of people is certainly a cornerstone in the QPI System,
but it must be done in the context of all Seven Principles if it
is to achieve its full potential and beneficial effects and avoid disasterous
side effects. |
|
It is mentioned in the previous paragraph that once management has made
a commitment to improving all stakeholders' interests on a long-term global
level, once they understand the basic interconnectedness of their business
and the pressure points whereby small actions have large results, once
they have established the mission and strategy, once they have set up the
prioritization of processes, once they have learned how
not
to "tamper",
and once they know how to approach process improvement in a positive and
constructive manner, then is a good time to begin empowering people. |
